Final news from EVM World 2012, Florida, USA (and then return to Belgium)

Keynote speech at EVM World 2012 was... a success, I think

This morning, Friday, June 1st, OR-AS partner Mario Vanhoucke and EVM Europe board member Stephan Vandevoorde have given their keynote presentation at the 28th Annual International EVM World 2012 Conference. We had a "top of the bill" impression since it was the last talk of the conference, in the big room, with an audience of mainly American people who seem to enjoy themselves with what we said.

The topic of the presentation was "research meets practice" as summarized in our previous blog. We both have the feeling that we did well. Kym Henderson, chairman of research, was impressed and satisfied. Many people were happy with what we said, and even the fotographer said "I do this for many years now, but it was the best keynote speech I have seen". What else can we be but happy and satisfied? At such moments, you believe everything people say :-).

Thank you EVM World board for having us at the US and thanks to Kym once again for the invitation. Research meets practice and Europe joins the US. To be continued, I hope...
