Almost 8 years ago, in 2007, PMI Belgium gave an award, known as the PMI Research Collaboration Fund (RCF), to Mario Vanhoucke for the research on Earned Value Management and project control. At the PMI Belgium website, they describe the purpose of this research fund. More precisely, the purpose of this research funding was threefold, as follows:

As you know, next Wednesday, April 29, 2015, an information session will be given on the choices you can make next year in the M.Sc. of Business Engineering. As we agreed to present only 30 minutes to show you the content of each sub-discipline (Operations Management, Data Analytics and Finance), that means we can only use 10 minutes for each discipline. Not enough... to tell you what Operations Management really is, with little to no room to discuss all the details.
In the past few years, I have written three books on Project Management and Control (PM), published by Springer, that each focus on the PM topic from a different angle: one is about PM research, another is a student handbook and finally there is one that gives a summary of formulas, calculations and illustrations.
The list of Master Theses for the period 2014 - 2016 is now available at the OR&S website (in Dutch) and contains no less than 35 students with an interest in Integrated Project Management and Control. Below, a list of titles and assigned students (in Dutch) is given. Quite likely, one of these will be the winner of the PMI Master Thesis Award in 2016!
