A new OR-AS website: Past, present and future
The new OR-AS website is now online! Launching it has been a tremendous effort, not just in designing a fresh look or writing new content, but in deciding what to keep, what to update, and what to leave behind. Times change, yet OR-AS has a long history: the company was founded in 2001 as a project management consultancy, while the Operations Research & Scheduling (OR&S) group emerged as a research hub.
Some things are now outdated. Software tools like ProTrack and initiatives such as EVM Europe are no longer active, but their legacy continues to influence our current research projects. While OR&S never set out to become "big," it has grown, and this website aims to provide a clear overview of our past endeavors and future ambitions.
This site is designed for our students, clients, and anyone interested in project management and decision-making. Here you can explore:
Peer-reviewed research articles and publications in professional journals
Project management software tools such as ProXL, ProPy, and P2 Engine
Our project management bookstore
Our brandnew podcast ORASTalks
The PM Knowledge Center, featuring legacy tools and resources
Teaching materials showing how our research is applied in the classroom
Supportive downloads for students including tutorials, spreadsheets, and guides
And much more, from insights into dynamic scheduling to advanced project control methods
We hope this site serves as both a valuable resource and an inspiration, offering a window into how projects are planned, managed, and understood over time, and showing how our research continues to impact both education and practice in project management.
