P2 Engine runs on top 500 worldwide ranked infrastructure

P2 Engine still runs on the supercomputer

We have posted before that P2 Engine runs on the supercomputing infrastructure of Ghent University in order to generate terrabytes of project data simulating project progress, risk metrics, performance measures, EVM data, and much more.

In a Belgian newspaper (De Morgen, 20/06/2012), this supercomputing infrastructure is now ranked at place 118 in the world when it comes to computer speed. The article is unfortunately in Dutch and its link will probably be deleted very soon, but the underlying message is

P2 Engine runs on one of the fastest computers in the world!

The article mentions the ability of researchers to generate a lot of data in order to put the research results to a higher level. This is exactly what we want to obtain with P2 Engine, so... thank you very much, Ghent University, for giving us one of the fastest machines in the world! And keep following this blog or our Twitter account (@ORASTalks) to see the results of all these tests in the near future.

Article of De Morgen (in Dutch):

Vlaamse supercomputer in wereldwijde Top 500 ranking
