OR-AS: What's Next: A sneak preview

Sneak preview at OR-AS: What is coming...?

We often have more ideas than time, and sometimes start to work on a lot of these ideas, without fully completing them. That's why we have decided to post a "what's coming up" blog on our OR-AS website, in order to give the customers a sneak preview of what they can expect, but also to motivate our team to work on the new research topics until they are finished and ready to submit to the public. Here is what we will working on in the next few months:

1 Project Management Articles

A new article has recently been published in the Journal of Modern Project Management and more details will be given in one of our next blogs. In the near future, at least two newly published articles are coming your way, extending the knowledge on the use of simulation studies in project control and the relevance for the p-factor concept that has been implemented in ProTrack and P2 Engine to measure schedule adherence.

2 New book: Integrated Project Management and Control

A new book with work title "Integrated Project Management and Control" is under development and aims at holding the middle between the methodological details of a research book and the general overview descriptions of a student handbook. It will summarize the formulae and research topics from Measuring Time and integrate them with the themes discussed in Dynamic Scheduling. Currently, we are working on the proof readings with a team of experts and are looking for a publisher. We secretly hope that Springer will accept again.

3 P2 Engine 4.0

P2 Engine is currently released under version 3.2.5 and has, since its initial launch, had an enormous amount of changes and improvement to further enhance the state-of-the-art in dynamic scheduling. Thanks to the use by some PhD students and quite a number of Master students, we could detect the most important shortcomings of the current P2 Engine release. The fourth release of P2 Engine is under development and will focus on the use of statistical tools for baseline scheduling, risk analysis and project control. Keep an eye on www.p2engine.com!

4 ORAS goes mobile

We are currently working on an App for iOS (of course!) and Android that aims at bringing students together at one central place, and motivate them to make the bridge between their curriculum and the practical world. We will focus a lot on the course material but will also promote our research, our OR-AS products, our EVM Europe event, and much more. Keep an eye on this blog, since we are currently working hard to develop a nice and beautiful app full of Operations Research and Project Management stuff.
