Research meets Practice in Bangkok

International Conference on Applied Operational Research - ICAOR

On Wednesday, July 25, 2012, A presentation has been given at the International Conference on Applied Operational Research (ICAOR) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The presentation "Operations Research and Dynamic Scheduling - When Research meets Practice" gives an overview of how the "Operations Research" methodology has helped OR-AS to create products such as ProTrack, P2 Engine, PSG and much more and how it has led to the creation of EVM Europe and PM Knowledge Center. I have talked about the research team at Ghent University (OR&S) and how each of them contributes not only to research, but also to the translation of this research into practical guidelines and commercial tools and techniques.

Obviously, I also have mentioned the big CRA research project, in the hope that academics become interested in the P2 Engine research to help us find new research ideas. Moreover, I also mentioned EVM Europe in the hope that professionals become interested to share their expertise at the EVM Europe conference in Twente next November.
